Privacy Policy — ProofPay
ProofPay is offered in two versions, and each has its own Privacy Policy because each collects information differently. Read the one that matches the version you use — the two are not interchangeable, and neither one describes the other's data practices.
ProofPay Basic
Manual-sharing edition
"Simple. Private. In your hands."
"I choose what ProofPay sees."
Manually share the payment messages you want ProofPay to process — local processing, local encrypted storage, no automatic SMS collection.
Read the Basic Privacy Policy →
Automated Payment IntelligenceProofPay Premium
Automated Payment Intelligence
"Stop chasing payment messages. Let ProofPay do the work."
"I authorize ProofPay to automatically process relevant payment messages."
Authorize automated processing of relevant payment messages and reduce repetitive manual work — a different, permission-based data-acquisition model from Basic.
Read the Premium Privacy Policy →
The difference is primarily automatic versus user-initiated SMS acquisition — Premium's automation does not by itself imply cloud storage or independent verification of a payment, and Basic's manual model does not mean ProofPay is monitoring your inbox in the background. Each policy describes only the mechanism actually used by that version.
Terms of Use — ProofPay
Drafted with a Kenyan legal context given Denxor Labs' origin. General information, not a substitute for independent legal advice.
- Acceptable use — ProofPay may be used only for lawful personal or business record-keeping of your own payment information.
- User responsibilities — You're responsible for safeguarding your device and PIN, and for the accuracy of any information you rely on ProofPay to preserve.
- Application functionality — ProofPay processes supported transaction message formats; it does not guarantee recognition of every bank, provider, or format.
- Limitations & availability — The application is provided "as is" during active development and may change, and features may be added, altered or removed.
- Third-party payment providers — ProofPay is not affiliated with, and does not act on behalf of, the banks, telecoms, or merchants named in captured transactions.
- Transaction accuracy & reliance — Records reflect information reported to your device; ProofPay does not independently verify or certify a payment with a third party.
- Intellectual property — ProofPay and the Denxor Labs marks belong to Denxor Labs.
- Modifications & termination — Denxor Labs may modify or discontinue ProofPay features; you may stop using the app and delete it at any time.
- Disclaimers & limitation of liability — ProofPay (Basic and Premium alike) is a record-keeping tool, not a certified verification, legal, or financial-advice service. Automated processing in ProofPay Premium means relevant payment messages are identified and organized automatically — it does not mean Denxor Labs independently verifies, authenticates, guarantees, or certifies any payment with a bank, mobile-money provider, merchant, or telecom. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ProofPay is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Denxor Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of ProofPay, and Denxor Labs' total liability for any claim relating to ProofPay is limited to the amount, if any, you paid for the product giving rise to the claim in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in this clause limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
- Governing law — These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of ProofPay is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
Data & Security Policy
Authentication
PIN-based app access, with escalating lockout after repeated failed attempts.
Cryptographic protection
Salted PBKDF2‑HMAC‑SHA256 with a high iteration count for PIN authentication.
Local storage
Transaction records stored in encrypted local storage.
Android security
Storage protection is backed by Android Keystore mechanisms.
Transaction queue
Pending transaction/SMS data is held in an encrypted queue, not exposed in ordinary storage.
Failure handling
Processing failures or timeouts are handled through durable queueing rather than silently discarding data.
Notification privacy
Notification previews are designed to avoid unnecessarily exposing sensitive transaction amounts.
Message processing
Supported transaction-message formats are processed on-device. Universal SMS/provider compatibility is not claimed.
None of the above is marketed as military-grade, unhackable, or 100% secure — these mechanisms describe what is actually implemented.
ProofPay Premium's automated-processing pathway is built on this same local-security architecture — see the Premium Privacy Policy for the detail specific to automated processing.
Verification claims
ProofPay does not currently operate a live online verification
backend (e.g. a hosted /verify service or QR-based
third-party verification). Any such capability, if built in future,
will be clearly labelled Coming soon rather than
implied to exist today.
